Victoria Has No Secrets

After reading the sixth chapter in Perdictably irrational, i found it shocking at first that the author invovled such a explict experiment in the reading. However during my reading i didn't find his conclusions quite suprising at all. I mean when he talks about guys being more acceptable to some things while being turned on then yeah, of course. Everyone knows that saying "all men are pigs" in throws of passion you could probably pursade them to hand over just about anything.

I mean take King Hnery the eighth of example the guy was married. Then when a more younger girl came into the picture and denied him the urge to sleep with her, he tore a country apart to be with her.

In today's society we are exposed to sex on a daily basis. From billboards to television, sex is there being shoved into our faces. Billboards show very suggestive material that make you think about sex. Stores like Abercombe & Finch have should we say a explicit advertising campagin to reel in the young hormone driven teenagers into their stores.

Then if we take a look at music videos now a days. There are scantly clad women running everywhere in the video. Unfortunately my fellow brothers and sisters of the Hip Hop community are notorious for this kind of display of entertainment. For me personally i sick of it already. I mean what is the point of even watching MTV, BET, or VH1 when the possibility of having a music video playing with half naked women shaking their behinds in front of the camera are going to dominate the screen? I wouldn't mind just seeing a plain ole music video that has the song playig with a decent storyline to follow it. I don't want every video to be in a club, or in ghetto with low riders bouncing down the street.

But in the end the companies know that sex is the golden goose of advertising. Sell the people a fantasy that is convincing enough to make them buy your product.
